Just went for an interview with an airline today. Got ridiculed by the HR personnel for wasting my parents money for pursuing my dreams in Australia. When I told her that I’ll be doing my CPL flight test next week, she say its a waste of money & time. Apparently, it seems to her that she thinks I want to be a direct entry pilot although nowhere did I ever get anywhere near that edge. I’m extremely realistic in that if I can’t make it in this particular airline as a cadet pilot, I’ll complete my ATPLs & try to seek employment in other countries where they give the people more chance. & she reacted as if this particular airline is the ONLY airline in the whole world. Its one of the best, fair enough but I must also be realistic & prepare for contingencies should I not be in this airline but she doesn’t realise that. Ignorance? Arrogance? I try to keep myself calm but I can’t.
She claimed that the Australian ICAO standard license that I possess is anyhow license. What is the meaning of this? Does that mean that the particular airline’s license is the only license that is valid in the god-damn world? Jesus… Even that airline’s pilots are trained in Australia! The only difference is that there’ll be more theory papers which is based on the Europe’s JAA. I can’t understand how the airline can hire such an ignorant/arrogant person, unless anyone of you readers let me know that its the HR’s job to be so mean/ignorant/arrogant. I sweat my ass off for this license, spent time & money to obtain it. Even Qantas is using this so-called anyhow license to fly their planes & its one of the safest in the world too… I can’t take it if anyone insulted my work without a god-damn valid reason. She also said: "This poor boy think that his CPL is very big." What the fuck? I NEVER said that my license is very big. I’m boiling right now. The more I think about it, the more hot I get. I’m willing to start from scratch, & I’ve never indicated anywhere that I’m so arrogant as to skip phases & she thought I want to move to the Learjets straight… What the hell? She ought to be SHOT!
Sigh… Anyway, just need an outlet for frustration, so here I am venting my frustrations… & to be politcally correct, in order to avoid being sued, I manage to avoid naming the airline or the HR person. The airline is good, but this HR person? Hmm… If I get a chance to complain… I will! Hehehe… Singaporean’s specialty… COMPLAIN!!!
